Patron Suggestion
We welcome your purchase suggestions for new materials not owned by KPL. In order to best serve our patrons, a KPL card is required to submit a suggestion. This form is to suggest new materials (published in the last 12 months or that will be released in the next 3 months) that you are unable to find in the SHARE catalog, For items older than 12 months, please place an interlibrary loan request.
While all suggestions are given full consideration, it is not possible to accommodate every suggestion. Items are selected based on community interest and not individual want. KPL frequently reviews circulation data to determine collection priorities. If your suggestion is purchased, a hold will be placed for you if requested and the item will be sent to the library of your choice. You will be notified if your suggestion is not added to the collection.
The criteria used for selecting items for the library can be found in the Collection Development and Materials Selection Policy. KPL acquires materials through established library vendors. Amazon and similar websites are not established library vendors. KPL does not purchase items without a unique ISBN, directly from authors, self-published materials, materials without professional durable binding, textbooks, or materials in consumable formats such as workbooks.
Items purchased may take approximately 6 weeks to process after the submission date or after the release date, whichever comes first.
For Authors and Publishers
Kenosha Public Library does not purchase unsolicited materials, return materials or accept invoices.
Other authors or their representatives can submit their work to be considered for the library’s general collection by completing the Independent Author Submission Form.
