Welcome to the Second Southport Literary Fair, a celebration of literature for all ages and interests!

In partnership with Blue House Books,  Kenosha Public Library and Studio Moonfall, we are planning a day of author discussions, live interviews, food trucks and activities for all ages.

SCHEDULE

We are packing in as much amazing content as we can! Please note that some panels may have delayed start times.

AUTHORS ALLEY

11 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Authors will be available throughout the day for meet and greets and signings! Note that authors will be unavailable while they are participating in a panel discussion and during a 30 minute break for lunch.

Meet & Greet with Brynne Weaver

1 to 3 p.m. - We're so excited to have Brynne Weaver joining us for the Southport Literary Fair! Due to expectations of large crowds, a ticket is required, which will include a purchase or preorder of any book from the Ruinous Love trilogy. You do not need tickets to attend either of Brynne's panels during the Southport Literary Fair, only for the meet and greet and signingGet your ticket here, opens a new window.

ROOM A

12 p.m. - 10 Things I Love About Love: Romance authors on why they write love stories with Brynne Weaver, Becca Grischow, and Carla Luna, hosted by Melonie Johnson

**Please note, some of these books contain mature content that may not be suitable for younger or sensitive readers and may be discussed during the panel. Please use your discreation when deciding to attend this panel.**

1 p.m. - Words that Haunt: How horror authors bring the chills with just the written word with Maureen Kilmer, Julia Fine, Olesya Salnikova Gilmore, Kelly Dwyer, hosted by Samantha Jacquest

2 p.m. - The Art of the Mystery: How to plan the perfect crime with Annelise Ryan, Nick Petrie, and Kelsey Rae Dimberg, hosted by Patricia Skalka

3 p.m. - Traveling Through Time and Place: The importance of historical fiction with Ronald H. Balson, Julia Fine and Olesya Salnikova Gilmore, hosted by Greta Kelly

4 p.m. - The Journey From Book to Screen: Authors on watching their stories come to life with Ali Novak and Brynne Weaver, hosted by Samantha Jacquest.

ROOM B

1:30 p.m. - Our Inner Child: Celebrating books for tweens and teens with Claire Swinarski, Ali Novak, Laura Anne Bird, and Wendy Parris, hosted by Meg Bonney

2:15 p.m. - The story is in the picture: The benefits of graphic novels and illustrated middle grade books with Mary Winn and Donovan Scherer, hosted by Marcia Siehr

3 p.m. - Away with tradition: The journey of self-publishing with Natasa Zoubouridis, B. C. Taylor, Sharon K. Angelici, Carla Luna, Audrey Lynden hosted by Melonie Johnson

STORYTIME

All storytime sessions will include a reading and activity to last about 45 minutes!

1:30 p.m. - Randi Moxi reading A Pittie Pool Party

2:30 p.m. - Peter Plew reading The Unicorn Mouse

3:30 p.m. - Leah Gilbert reading No Bear Anywhere and leading a scavenger hunt to search for bears!

Activity Room

12 p.m. - Ookie Origami: Create a “bat bookmark” and other seasonal fold projects.

1 p.m. - Lollipop Spider on a Web: Spiders can be sweet! Materials provided to make a Lollipop spider sitting in her web.

2 p.m. - Spooky Groot: Transform a lunch bag into a one of a kind baby Groot. Then decorate Groot for a spook or cute mood.

3 p.m. - Make your own Graphic Novel: The library will provide the materials needed to create your own mini graphic novel. Donovan Scherer of Studio Moonfall will begin by leading a workshop to create a character, then Marcia from Kenosha Public Library will take over to make your own graphic novel!

VENDORS & FOOD TRUCKS

11 a.m. to 5 p.m. - The Lettering Machine is bring in Apparel Bar! Pick your clothing item, pick a bookish logo, and watch them make your new gear right there on the spot! A portion of the proceed will be benefiting the new KPL Kids@Uptown Lofts!

12 to 4 p.m. - Josie Rodriguez of The Drawing Room will be offering express caricatures for $35, an amazing special rate for Southport Literary Fair attendees!

12 to 4 p.m. - The Wisconsin Tolkien Society will be on site displaying novels from the vast universe, reference materials, maps, art and more! It's a Tolkien fan's paradise!

12 to 4 p.m. - Hydn Cheese, The Sipster Mobile Bar, and Boboa Pop Sweet Shop will be set up outside!
