Teens! Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is simple: read 100 books before you graduate high school!
100 Books Before Graduation is a brand new reading program launching at KPL just for teens ages 12-19. We know high school is a busy time, and 100 books seems like a lot. That's the challenge of it all! Reading can help you learn new things, expand your knowledge and broaden your thinking, gain empathy and social skills, help with your reading and writing skills... There are boundless benefits.
The books can be anything you want to read - we just want to see you reading! Books you read before the challenge don't count, but any books you finish after starting count towards your ultimate goal. Stuck on what to read? Check out our lists of suggestions to get you started!
If reading on its own isn't enough of a motivator, 100 Books Before Graduation offers prizes for every 10 books you read, and a special prize when you finish all 100 books. When you finish 10 books on your log, come in to any KPL branch to pick out a prize. Prize options vary between free books, fidgets and squishies, candy, and more. Our 100 Book finishers will get their pick of a prize, plus a bookplate sticker to take home, their name added into a book in the KPL collection, and an entry into a yearly drawing for a $25 gift card.
