We know the power of the written word. And we would like you to help us brighten up the dreariest month of the year. February is Library Lover's Month, and we cannot think of a better way to celebrate than to spread some love through Kenosha! Help us create a library of love letters to all your favorite places, Kenosha legends, and more. Perhaps you want to write a poem to your favorite breakfast place, a sonnet to the Simmons Library, or a letter of appreciation to the best tree at your neighborhood park - nothing is off-limits!
Pick up your Love Letter kit between January 1-20 at any KPL location or use materials you have on hand at home. Return your letter by January 31 to have a copy included in our compilation album. This album will be shared on the KPL website, social media, and with the subjects of your love letters.
Here are a few helpful tips to keep in mind:
- Please avoid using any personal identifying information. When signing your letter, please sign your first name only.
- Want to keep your letter or deliver it yourself? Great! We would love to make a copy to share. Please let us know when you stop in, and we will be sure to get your letter back to you immediately.
