Kindness Week Community Art Project

Each year KPL participates in a city-wide initiative called Kindness Week. Kindness Week celebrates the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a series of events and initiatives for community members of all ages. To check out this year's full schedule of events visit kenoshaiskind.weebly.com

This year Kenosha Public Library invites you to participate in a community art project inspired by Dr. King's "What is Your Life's Blueprint?" speech. This speech, delivered to students at Barratt Junior High School in Philadelphia on October 26, 1967, asks you to ponder what building blocks determine which way your life should go. Listen to the full speech here.

"...in your life’s blueprint, you must have as the basic principle the determination to achieve excellence in your various fields of endeavor. You’re going to be deciding as the days, as the years unfold what you will do in life — what your life’s work will be. Set out to do it well." - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Pick up an art kit at any KPL location before December 31 and return your art work by January 12 to be included in the community art show.
