We Energies Foundation Pledges Gift for New Children’s Library

For Every Child Campaign

December 5, 2023—Kenosha— The We Energies Foundation has pledged $50,000 toward the completion of a new children’s library in the heart of Kenosha’s Uptown neighborhood. The library, set for completion in spring 2024, will serve children birth through 5th grade with a strong emphasis on building science, engineering, and math skills. Community partners will bring Early Head Start and the YMCA after school Achievers program to the site along with nutrition and early childhood development classes for caregivers. With a collection of over 3,000 children’s books, the library will offer a full program of early childhood education classes in an exciting hands-on learning environment to inspire a new generation of curious learners. “We are excited to partner with the Kenosha Public Library Foundation on this new children’s library. Together, we can create a brighter future for the communities we serve," said Beth Straka, president of We Energies Foundation.
