Kids and teens are invited to stop by any KPL location to pick up their reading log starting on November 1. Readers have until March 31, 2025, to collect and grow their beastly creatures by reading for at least 20 minutes a day.
The Kenosha Public Library is thrilled to announce the launch of "Bookish Beasts," a transformative reading and card-collecting program designed to ignite a passion for reading in children! Beginning November 1, 2024, and running through March 31, 2025, this innovative program encourages young readers to dive into the magical world of books while fostering their reading skills.
Parents have hailed "Bookish Beasts" as "transformational," with children displaying a newfound desire and ability to read. Participants will embark on an enchanting adventure, collecting cards featuring 24 mythical creatures that evolve from infancy to adulthood as they read. For every 20 minutes spent reading, children will earn a card, culminating in a total of 96 cards for those who complete 32 hours of reading!
