When a patron wants to borrow an item that is not found in the SHARE catalog, which includes all items owned by the Kenosha County Library System and the Prairie Lakes Library System, there is an option to borrow the item from outside our system using Interlibrary Loan. The patron or library staff acting on behalf of the patron may request the item through Wiscat, Wisconsin’s resource sharing platform. The link to Wiscat is found at the bottom of the mykpl.info home page. Items that can be requested include books, audiobooks, DVDs, music CDs, magazines, and microfilm. Items that cannot be requested include textbooks, equipment, and items newer than one year old. For recent titles, please submit a Purchase Suggestion

There is no limit to the total number of requests, but patrons are limited to 5 active requests at a time. A request is considered active from the time the request is placed through it being removed from your account when it is returned.
