Search the catalog, request books for pickup, renew your materials, and even pay fees. Plus, you can find your nearest library and find upcoming programs at your neighborhood library, no matter where you are.

    The Libby app for ebooks works with Overdrive and has various options, opens a new window for visual and audio aid including screen reader compatibility, adjustable text size and more. Adobe Digital Editions 2.0, which is an app used to read eBooks from OverDrive, is compatible with several screen readers for people with low vision or visual impairments.

    Some publishers do not offer eBooks to libraries, do not offer eBook versions of new titles to libraries or delay availability of eBook versions of new titles to libraries.

    To offer you the widest selection of eBooks and downloadable/streaming magazines, audiobooks, movies and music, we partner with a number of suppliers. While we've integrated these offerings into our website where possible, in some cases integration is not possible and separate accounts are required.

    Your pin/password is tied to your library card and is the same pin you would use at a self-checkout in the library. Call 262-564-6130 or email ask@mykpl.info if you do not know your pin and a staff member will assist you.

    Yes, but we'll need to transfer your information from your old card to your new card. 

    Please send your old and new card numbers to ask@mykpl.info and we'll transfer your information (checkouts, holds, wish list items and history) to your new card number.

    Yes, we do have Kindle eBooks.

    To transfer library eBooks to your Kindle, you must be connected to a WiFi network. You also may transfer Kindle eBooks to your Kindle using a USB cable.

    If you’ve accidentally selected the wrong format, contact us.

    Yes, you can renew a title up to 3 days before it expires if no one else has placed it on hold. Find step-by-step instructions on OverDrive Help: How to Renew Digital Titles.

    If someone else has placed a title on hold, you can't renew it, but you can request it again up to three days before it expires.

    You may check out up to 10 OverDrive titles at a time, excluding OverDrive magazines.

    • The loan period for eBooks and audiobooks is up to 3 weeks.
    • The loan period for video is up to 1 week.

    You can set shorter default loan periods by changing the settings in your OverDrive account.

    You can check out an unlimited number of OverDrive magazine issues for up to 3 weeks each. OverDrive magazine issues do not count towards your 10 item limit.

    Everything is returned automatically. There are never any late fees.

    KPL cardholders may check out eBooks, audiobooks and magazines.

    Wisconsin's Digital Library, powered by Overdrive, is available to all library users in the State of Wisconsin. The governing structure of this resource has agreed to 10 checkouts to help manage the hundreds of thousands of holds that are seen every year and balance the financial costs for additional licenses.

    You can have up to 10 holds on OverDrive titles.

    Most online resources are available anywhere with your library card.

    If you’re outside the library, please make sure you’re logged in to your account.

    The availability of printing and emailing varies by resource, but most of these resources offer the option to print or email the information you find.

    Look for buttons or links to download a printer-friendly version of the information or to email a copy of the information.
