Branch Manager Position Opening!

Kenosha Public Library is currently looking for someone to provide leadership for Branch Staff at our Southwest Library location and guide the overall service plan for the location, which includes fostering exceptional customer service, maintaining the collection's health, and collaboratively evaluating library spaces, programs, services, and partnership development.

Our Branch Managers are innovators and change-makers who grow services in our libraries to meet the needs of our diverse community. Key to our Branch Manager role is the ability to dream up ways to connect people with books and resources, transform our library spaces to better meet individual needs, empower the branch team, and model exemplary customer service. Our Branch Managers set the standard for responsive library services and champion different approaches in serving the community at their location. The work is highly collaborative, bringing new ideas and people to the table to ensure the work is impactful, all while embracing that libraries and learning should be fun.

Recent Kenosha Public Library Developments

  • Launched new Self-Service Team to implement new opportunities for the community to access the library 24/7
  • Opened new children’s-only library that inspired growth in children’s services in all of our library locations
  • Celebrated milestone birthdays at two of our library locations (Simmons: 125, Uptown: 100) renewing interest in local history programming and resources

Potential Projects for the Candidate

  • Strengthen partnerships with nearby business and non-profit organizations.
  • Work with programming staff to grow keystone Southwest Library events including the Southport Literary Fair
  • Develop facilities plan with administration to plan out phased renovations of branch spaces to reflect current use and community needs.
  • Work with branch tenant, Kenosha Community Media, to grow resources
