The Southwest Library is entering Phase 2 of our layout change. You've watched as we built and opened two new interior event spaces, created a beautiful new pathway down the center of the library, and returned soft seating so you could enjoy browsing a little longer.
What is next on the project plan? Carpet.
Two large portions of the Southwest Library will be recarpeted beginning February 13. To complete this project safely and swiftly, we will have limited hours at the library during that time.
Beginning Monday, February 13, the Southwest Library will operate on the following schedule:
Mondays - 3 PM - 9 PM
Tuesdays - 3 PM - 9 PM
Wednesdays - 3 PM - 9 PM
Thursdays - 3 PM - 9 PM
Fridays - 3 PM - 6 PM
Saturdays - 9 AM - 5 PM
Sundays - 12 PM - 4 PM
Except for Monday, February 20 - Wednesday, February 22. The Southwest Library will maintain regular business hours (9 AM - 9 PM) all three days to support the Spring Primary Election.
The recarpeting is projected to be finished by Friday, March 10. We will be sure to let you know if there are any changes to this timeline.
The library will look quite different from its standard setup during this time. Bookshelves will be in the middle pathway, and parts of the library will be inaccessible. But we will be nearby to help you find exactly what you need. All other KPL locations will be open regular hours during this project.
If you have any questions regarding this project, please contact the Brandi Cummings, Head of Community Programs and Partnership, at bcummings@mykpl.info or 262-564-6113.
