Let's face it, there is nothing spookier than finding out your friends, family, and colleagues don't have a library card. Luckily it's an easy fix. All October long you can refer your friends to get a library card for a chance to win a prize. The more people you refer the higher your chances of earning a prize are!

How it works:

Stop by any KPL branch or the Bookmobile and tell a staff member you want to join the refer-a-friend program. Staff will take your library card information, assign you a "referrer number," and give you referral cards that you can give out to your friends that don't have a library card yet! Then, when your friend is ready they can bring the card in and sign up for a card. We will then add their information to the card (your referral number should already be on the card) and enter it into a prize drawing. Therefore, the card we select when we do the drawing will have two winners: the referrer and the referee!

Things to note:

• There is no limit on the number of people you can refer although we do ask that you take no more than 10 referral cards at a time.
• The more you refer the higher the probability is that your card will be picked in the prize drawing.
• If you refer someone that had a card previously that has expired and needs to be renewed, the referral still counts!
• Referral cards must be returned by October 31 in order to be entered into the drawing.
