Why do we offer social work services in the library?

Social work is about meeting the individual where they’re at. In today’s world, that’s libraries.

Social work in libraries is a relatively new concept but is becoming widely accepted and needed throughout our country. Libraries are more than books now. They’re a place where people can find resources, use the internet, and attend library and community programs. Most important of all, they are a place open to everyone. The Kenosha Public Library noticed this and collaborated with Carthage College to have a social work intern in 2022, and we are proud to continue that program this year.
