Yes, the library takes donations of books that are in good condition. Due to space needs, only some items donated can be added to the collection and may be sent to our Friends of the Library group to be sold at a book sale. Funding from this will go to the Library in the form of Grants.

Book & Material Donations
This depends on several factors, including but not limited to condition, need within the collection, age of the information provided, and space availability. A librarian will evaluate the donation, which may be sent to our Friends of the Library group for sale at a book sale.
The Kenosha Public Library and Friends of the Library will not accept the following items:
- Encyclopedias
- Magazines & Newspapers (including National Geographic)
- Pamphlets
- Owners manuals
- Abridged works (Readers Digest)
- Mass Market Paperback Books
- Items in poor condition (missing pages, markings, water damage, mold, etc.)
- Audio cassette, VHS, or Vinyl Records
Due to space and volunteer limitations, we ask that at most 2 16-inch x16-inchx15-inch boxes (Large Size Menards Moving Boxes) be donated. We can accept larger donations as we get closer to a Friends of the Library Book Sale. Book Sale dates can be found on our events website.
