Kenosha Public Library Leadership
Brandi Cummings
Interim Director
bcummings@mykpl.info
Brandi's kindergarten teacher once wrote, "Brandi could not finish her art project because she was far too concerned with making sure her classmates had the crayons they needed for their projects." nothing much has changed since then. A fierce believer in community, connection, and caring, she started her career with the Kenosha Public Library in 2008 and worked in various roles. In her current position, Brandi oversees marketing, public relations, adult programming, and community partnerships. When not plotting her next program or spotlighting the work of her coworkers, Brandi can be found volunteering throughout the community or road-tripping with her wife.

He is also a co-author of the ALA Bill of Rights Article VII and a privacy advocate. When away from the office, Rob works on his home, car and remote troubleshooting his parent's computers.
Michelle Tucker
Business Manager
mtucker@mykpl.info
Michelle enjoys supporting staff in all their endeavors and is endlessly fascinated by the many cool things that happen in libraries. In her spare time, Michelle loves to read, spend time with family, play board games on the rare occasion everyone cooperates, and talk about how adorable her dog is (just ask- there are lots of pictures!).
Heather Thompson
Head of Youth & Family Services
hthompson@mykpl.info
Heather believes that the public library is the best place for families to learn, play, and connect. She thinks there is nothing better than seeing a child light up when discovering something new! Sponsored by the Public Library Association as a 2017 ALA Emerging Leader and was named a 2019 Mover & Shaker by Library Journal, Heather regularly speaks about program development and early childhood literacy initiatives at library conferences nationwide. Heather loves learning alongside families in STEAM programs and yoga classes, cooking, reading nonfiction, and hanging out with her husband and their two cats.

Shannon also leads the Fantasy/Sci-Fi book club and other programs and loves recommending books to other avid readers. In her spare time, she watches a lot of Asian dramas and will happily recommend them too.

She has worked in various public and academic institutions roles, currently serving as a branch manager for the Kenosha Public Library. She also enjoys performing choral music, playing cozy games on her Nintendo Switch, and spending time with her family.
Kahlil Griffin
Simmons & Uptown Library Branch Manager
kgriffin@mykpl.info
Since he entered the field of librarianship, Kahlil has been called a "unicorn," as there are only a handful of young, African American male librarians, and he loves being an anomaly! He has been volunteering in libraries since he was in elementary school, and so, Kahlil's love for these institutions stems from early childhood. Impacting lives and serving communities are in his nature, and so as a librarian, he gets to be himself daily.
Justin Keberlein
Simmons Library Supervising Librarian
jkeberlein@mykpl.info
Justin is a firm believer in the transformative power of public libraries and is a dedicated advocate of vibrant, inclusive library spaces for patrons of all ages. Currently, Justin is a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and is on track to earn his MLIS in the Summer of 2024. Justin’s academic work was recognized by the Wisconsin Library Association, which awarded him the institution’s 2023 Library Education Scholarship. In November of 2023, he was elected to serve as the Vice Chair of the WLA’s Youth Services Section where he helps build and promote programs that educate and empower youth services workers across the state. In his free time he enjoys reading cosmic horror, teasing futuristic sounds out of his collection of synthesizers, and spending time hiking with his family.
