Teen Liaison Program

A Library Board Teen Liaison is an unpaid, non-voting member of the Kenosha Public Library
Board. The Library Board Teen Liaison attends all Library Board meetings that are open to the
public (closed sessions are excluded) and is invited to participate in discussions to provide a
teen perspective. At the last meeting, each Library Board Teen Liaison will make a presentation
to the Library Board regarding their ideas for teen library programs and services moving
forward.

Applicants must be at least 15 years old and entering their Sophomore or Junior year of high
school (or the equivalent for students who are homeschooled) as of September 1, 2025.

From August 2025 - April 2026 (9 months) or September 2025 - May 2026 (9 months). Start
date is determined by the appointees’ personal schedules.

Two.

Library Board Teen Liaisons must attend all public Library Board meetings from August 2025 -
April 2026 or September 2025 - May 2026. Meetings take place in person on the second
Tuesday of every month at 5:30pm. Library Board Teen Liaisons will be required to give a
presentation during the April or May board meeting, depending on when the liaisons start their
term.

Applications should be turned in at any Kenosha Public Library branch no later than June 12,
2025. Interviews will be held in late June for eligible applicants. Notifications of appointment will
be made by phone in mid-late July. Those who are not selected will receive an email.
